Notes - (Research):On June 16, 2012, Norman Ross 'Norm' Hennigar, Summerville, passed away peacefully just prior to his 90th birthday in Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Building, QEII, Halifax. Norman was born to the late Percival and Lillian Hennigar in Northfield, Hants Co., on August 4, 1922. He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Steinke (Gord) and Shawna Hennigar (Greg Phillips);
sisters, Olive Alicine, Mildred Densmore and Lois Burns. He is predeceased by his son, Gordie Hennigar; sisters, Sylvia Hennigar, Kathryn Demmings, Carol Buchanan and brothers, Hazen and Gordon. Norm enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces in 1942. During his tour of duty overseas he trained as a mechanic. Upon his return home from the war he carried on for many years in that field. A Legion Service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 21 followed by the funeral service, both in J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home in Summerville, Hants Co. Rev. Christine Johnson officiating with burial in Loyal Hill Cemetery, Summerville. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Loyal Hill Cemetery or to a charity of one's choice.
