TIBBITTS (Legere), Mary Beryl - Passed away peacefully, Wednesday, February 9, 2011, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, surrounded by those she held dear. Born on November 22, 1911, in Stewiacke, she was a daughter of the late Vetal and Carrie (Densmore) Legere. Mary was an active member of the Brunswick Street United Church. She was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Ladies Auxiliary and was well-known for working at bingo, Teen Hops, and banquets for over 40 years. For her dedication she was awarded the Meritorious Service Award with Palm Leaf. She was honored and very proud of this recog-nition. Mary loved to play cards and so enjoyed her nights with Phyllis, Helen and Laura. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and is survived by daughter, Sheila (Ter-rance) Terry; granddaughters, Krista (Jason) Graham, Heather (John) DeVouge; great-granddaughters, Olivia and Marin Graham. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frederick 'Ted' Tibbitts; sisters, Helen (Jack) Weaver, Roberta (Elmer) Ramsay, Evelyn (Walter) Marr, Edith (Bill) Densmore; brothers, Raymond and Linton; niece, Evelyn Frost; nephew, Bernard Weaver. In honor of Mary's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Inter ment will be held at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery, Stewiacke East. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro.
