HENNIGAR, Timothy James ? 69, Halifax, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2010, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Truro, he was the son of the late William and Barbara (Lennerton) Hennigar. He grew up in Truro, Mahone Bay, Bass River and Amherst. After high school graduation, he spent several years working on Imperial Oil tanker ships before attending Kings College and then Mount Alison University. He returned to Halifax in 1968 and relocated with his family to South Maitland in 1979. He worked as a CN Railway brakeman from 1968-1992 in Halifax and Truro, where he greatly enjoyed his job and coworkers. Tim had many interests and loved chess, canoeing, music, poetry and lively debate. He also enjoyed sports as an athlete, coach, and fan. He coached track and field and soccer, and followed his children's athletics careers with great enthusiasm. Beloved father of Dan (Maala Bhatt), Heather, and Toby, he is survived also by his wife, Ann (separated); granddaughter, Lilah; sisters, Nancy (Ted) Pettit, Mary (Bruce) Campbell, Gillian Jones, and 11 nephews and nieces. A wake/reception will be held in the Victoria Suite at the Lord Nelson Hotel on Sunday, January 31 from 4-8 p.m.
